There is blood, there are gunshots, stabbing, etc, all in self defence. With these creatures comes a dark and sinister undertone, and episodes can get very intense as the citizens of Wayward Pines try to escape from the Abbies. There is a fair amount of gore, once (spoilers) the Abbies are introduced from outside the town's electrice fence as mutants who eat humans. It is, however, rated TV 14+ for a reason. The second season brings even more depth to this spooky town. This show tells the story of Ethan Burke, a main character with good intentions, who finds himself in a strange town after a supposed car wreck and, after suspecting that something may be a little off, begins to investigate the origins of where he is. If you're looking for a quick thriller, Wayward Pines is perfect.
